ur Story

Born from the vision of twin brothers hailing from the rustic heart of  Gondhankhed, Maharashtra. Their roots run deep in rural life, and their hunger for knowledge knows no bounds. It all started in a humble village, where they faced the manifold challenges plaguing our society, especially in rural areas. These experiences sparked a passion within them, driving them to navigate their path toward development through– all essential foundations for a thriving societal framework.

In 2021, it evolved in the form of the Centre for Education Governance and Policy (CEGP Foundation). It is not just an organization; it’s a chain of thoughts that has blossomed into a powerful social movement. Driven by the motive of creating a cleaner environment, empowering marginalized communities, and fostering sustainable urban and rural development.

Our Journey:

YEARS OF TRANSFORMATION

In just a few years, CEGP Foundation has established itself as a leading name in governance consultancy, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment. With strategic collaborations, innovative approaches, and an unwavering commitment to impact, we continue to expand our footprint and touch lives across India.

BEGINNING

As we started in 2021 around Maharashtra, initially working towards Capacity Building and Training of SafaiSaathis touching 500+ lives through our programs. In the realm of Sustainability and Environment we effectuated the first cohort of the SafaiMitra Internship Program connecting 20+ young individuals who became the bridge between the SafaiSaathis and the Government policies. We have actively dwelled into the Awareness generation among the citizens and sensitization towards SafaiSaathis and sustainable practices as a result of which Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation in partnership with CEGP Foundation secured 8th rank at the National level and 2nd rank at the state level in SafaiMitra Suraksha Challenge’21 in the first campaign itself.

GROWTH

As we were paving our paths, and expanding our horizons of reach, we drew a spectrum of possibilities and research areas which required attention and were the need of the hour. By 2022 we had launched 5 successful batches of SafaiMitra Internship Program, reaching 100+ interns actively working towards governance and Policy. We stepped into Consultancy and Urban Policy development, and with the efforts of CEGP Foundation, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation again was awarded 3rd rank at the National Level and 1st rank at the State Level in the population group of 3-10 lakh. It was recognised as the ‘BEST CITY’ in Citizen Feedback under Swachh Sarvekshan, 2022. These are the testaments to our continued efforts towards transforming and securing place in the sectors of Environment and Governance.

The year 2023 got us plethora of opportunities, we initiated with our first National Level initiative “SafaiMitra Suraksha Challenge Review and Assessment” which was supported and Recognized by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), we initially launched the initiative in 3 States, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, targeting 15+ cities and recognizing the Best Practices and creating a momentum for it’s replication. Recognizing our efforts, NHRC issued an authorization letter to extend the initiative to 22 States in India, across 125+ Cities. We have extended our reach to both Rural and Urban areas, understanding the needs and requirements pertaining to SSC, Mission Life among other essential Government Initiatives. Our Research initiative at Sitab Diara was recognized and appreciated by Hon. DY. Chairman Rajya Sabha Shri Harivansh Singh ji.

MOVING FORWARD

Now, as we are heading forward, securing partnerships, formulating various programs and initiatives, we only thrive to ripple our efforts, towards upliftment of the marginalised section of our society, building a more self-sufficient rural sector, a self-sufficient youth, and an empowered section of women.

Our efforts are recognized not just nationally but internationally, these are the exemplifications of our dedication and efforts towards working for and with the socially marginalized, the vulnerable to the other end of spectrum which is Urban Development and Environment Sustainability. MBMC secured the President’s Award in PeyJal Sarvekshan (2023 – 2024) as a result of continued support of the team deployed by the CEGP Foundation. Our story of ‘Manoj Kumar’ a SafaiSaathi was published by UNDP India which was recognized by UNDP Administrator and UNDP Brazil.

We look forward to creating only more beautiful years in the future, where we can reach far more people, with some more initiatives and with a little more compassion and humility in our hearts.

Held on the 7th of August 2024, the event was a platform for industry leaders, CSR heads, and policymakers to discuss and align corporate social responsibility efforts with Mira Bhayandar’s developmental goals. The conclave focused on critical areas such as education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, encouraging collaborative discussions on how CSR funding can contribute to long-term urban development.
